All-Party Parliamentary Group for Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Professionals
This APPG had its inaugural AGM on 8th September 2021 when it was formally established."
Our aim is to support professionals working in equality, diversity and inclusivity (EDI) roles and ensure that the profession is nationally recognised across the UK.
The APPG will harness the knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusivity (EDI) professionals to influence government policy, practice and activity.
We will support those working in EDI roles to ensure that the profession is nationally recognised across the UK. We will also ensure that EDI professionals are supported to achieve the best outcomes for their organisations by developing statutory frameworks to better support the industry.
We recognise the important and strategic direction EDI professionals have when reviewing, designing and implementing quality services and the APPG will ensure that there is a formal process where their voices can be heard. To achieve this the APPG will ensure there is adequate support so that EDI can always be at the forefront of service delivery and workforce relations.
Our aim is to create and support an environment where there is improved connectivity and oversight of government policies with those with responsibility for their interpretation and equitable delivery.
